Word to the Teacher

This unit is designed to be flexible and adaptable to your specific students. You may Choose to do any or part of any lesson. If you go through in order and do all the exercises, it may take from 4-8 days depending on how much time each day you spend on a lesson. 

The reading comes from the book provided for you and each student to use:

Bush, Z. and Friedman, L. (2020) The Little Book of Government. The Little Book Series Publishing Power, Middletown, DE.

You have permission to copy for each student all the handouts and the parts of the book you want to use. 

Lessons are aligned with Ohio State Learning Standards in Social Studies and Language Arts Grade 1 & 2. There are materials provided to differentiate for students who are developmentally delayed, struggling to read and for students who are talented. You may also make individual adjustments for students with special needs on IEP’s or 504’s.
